Mmm, I figured that I should write about this once and then put if from my mind.
So, I got into a car accident today.
The bestie wanted to go eat instead or working out so we took my car. As I was driving, I had to stop because the cars in front of me were stopped for some reason. Five seconds later, BAM! A Civic to my bumper. The is a hole in it and it’s more smushed than it was before. And the first thing the bestie says?
“You have the worst luck ever”
The other car? Omg, the whole front bumper, hood, everything was crumpled. I felt so bad because I suffered little damage to my car and hers took the brunt of it and I wanted to let it go but the bestie and her dad told me to call the cops.
We decided to exchange information instead and as we’re doing that, a cop comes by and asks us what happened. So we ended up filing a police report instead. As we’re waiting for the cop to do that, the bestie and I are in our car laughing our asses off because we were absolutely convinced that squirrels were pelting our cars with blocks of ice. Gravity? No way! THE SQUIRRELS HAVE DECLARED WAR!
The cop ended up giving her a ticket and she’ll prolly have to go to court. Her insurance card expired so I have to call her and get her insurance information.
Idk what I’m going to do yet. I have to talk to my dad and have him look at the car before we decide what to do. My mother is over blowing it and thinks we should file a claim and get monies but really, we’ll prolly get nothing from insurance and I don’t think it’s a big deal. But I guess my dad will know better.

Mmm…It seems like I’m talking about this quite dispassionately…I can say that there were three second that I was completely stunned.
Impact. Uncertainty. Clarity.
When we got hit…that first moment was complete confusion as to what just happened. Then there was a fear of if anyone was hurt. And then the concern for my car and how bad the damage was. Then then, it was just getting out of my car and seeing it.
Idk. It’s absolutely terrifying to be in those three little second. And though this time, it wasn’t such a big deal, next time it all might be much worse. And that frightens me like no other. Especially since my best friend was in the car with me.
All I’m grateful for is that everyone was okay and unhurt. And I was lucky to have my bestie with me because I’m sure the reason I didn’t panic was because of her.
And now, I’m done. It’s written and will be out of mind after I talk to my dad.

well thank God it was just a minor accident and you’re all okay :) and the damage might seem horrible on her end but Civics are built to collapse to absorb as much impact as possible so that the driver/passengers don’t get the brunt of the impact~

First, I’m so sorry that happened. Car crashes, regardless, are terrifying. It’s why I don’t drive, actually. I’m glad your car isn’t damaged too badly. The biggest relief is that everyone is alright. Are you alright in all other senses?
